Somatic Movement

HURSTPIERPOINT

PRACTITIONER

Chloe Kyle

My own walk through life led me to discover the transformative practice of Somatic Movement in the tradition of Thomas Hanna.

In a class you will be guided through a series of movements in a slow manner with the eyes closed to allow the brain to relearn optimal movement patterns. By improving body awareness and helping you to reconnect with your body, you can learn how to take back conscious control of your muscles, release habitually contracted muscles, eliminate associated pain and tension and regulate your nervous system.

As a Somatic Movement Educator, it is my privilege and joy to empower others to become more embodied, move with more ease and grace and return to a sense of true self.

Over the last 30 years I have studied and explored Somatic Movement disciplines such as Living Somatics, Essential Somatics, Cranio-sacral therapy, Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Systematic Kinesiology.

In this studio I offer somatic movement classes in the tradition of Thomas Hanna, immersion workshops, and see clients for individual consultations.

Timetable

I have a residual left sided weakness after a stroke 15 years ago; with the quiet guided mindfulness of somatic movement I am rediscovering a connection and balance with my left side. I would describe it as gentle ‘counselling’ for my body, with great therapeutic results.

Wendy

The movements are slow and gentle, but they offer a surprisingly therapeutic experience. I would really recommend this to anyone seeking to release old patterns locked in the body. Chloe’s holding feels safe, gentle and reassuring.
