PRACTITIONER

Annabel Rose Hansen

I teach dynamic, active yoga that builds heat and challenges the body through flow, core work, and advanced postures. My classes are designed to be accessible, encouraging students to listen to their bodies—knowing when to push and when to rest. I’m passionate about helping participants build confidence and recognise that yoga is more than just physical postures.

With a BSc in Psychology (with Gender Studies) from the University of Sussex and a massage qualification from Bodyology Massage School, I’m deeply interested in holistic health. My yoga teaching reflects this, blending movement with a focus on both emotional and physical well-being. I’m excited to continue growing in this field and hope to further integrate my diverse training in the future.

Timetable

I have known and taught Annabel for more than six years- both during her time at University and from her regular attendance at my classes and workshops in Brighton. From the outset, she seemed to find yoga extremely beneficial and seemed to have a genuine interest in learning more about it. Over the last few years she developed a lot more confidence both in her own practice and in her teaching. She is intelligent and thoughtful about everything she does. She plays a key role in organising the entire yoga programme of classes at Sussex University and has been teaching a regular class there on and off over recent years. She has also been very supportive of the work of the Brighton Yoga Foundation, which aims to bring yoga to those who do not normally have access to it. I am very confident that Annabel is a good yoga teacher. Annabel has been teaching at Sussex University this year with very good feedback from her students. She has also been assisting me most weeks at my Ashtanga class at the university. She has proved to be very diligent and reliable.

Annabel is a fantastic and natural yoga teacher. Her classes are beautifully crafted and I love the way she weaves through her students talking through the postures offering support and guidance to those who want it. I always feel held and safe throughout her classes, I feel seen and able to go at my own pace. Her humour shines through and I always feel uplifted and replenished after!
